Big South Fork Medical Center Supports Local Shop With a Cop Initiative

This year at Big South Fork Medical Center, we are delighted to support the local efforts of The Oneida Police Department and their annual ‘Shop with a Cop’ initiative. Each year the Oneida Police Department works closely with the local school systems, law enforcement and government agencies from Tennessee and Kentucky to assist families in need by taking children shopping to Walmart.  Here they are encouraged to choose some gifts for themselves, with most choosing to spend some of their allocated budget on siblings or family members too.

This event gives the families and children a magical Christmas to remember that they otherwise may not have, while helping to build trust between officers and local children and reinforce the importance of this relationship.

The Oneida Police Department accept donations all year round for ‘Shop with a Cop’. Donations can be made directly into their account at UCB Bank in Oneida, TN. For move information visit their Facebook Page.
